What if we started preparing for our interview ?

Through these four paragraphs, I hope to tell you more about my personality but also about my expectations and the main difficulties I had to face. I hope that we can meet soon for an interview to discuss my motivations to join your company.

If you wish, you can already plan this exchange by clicking on this link.

My strengths

I will mention three. This is how I would define them:
  • Loyalty: After 25 years in one company, I can say that this is one of my undeniable qualities. I am reliable and dedicated.

  • Flexibility: I am flexible and can quickly adapt to fluctuations in activity or travel.

  • Empathy: I am a good listener who encourages mutual understanding.

This list is, of course, not exhaustive. However, these are the three qualities that are important to me because they seem to be essential in order to work in the best possible conditions and thus achieve one's objectives.

My defaults

I will mention three of them and explain how I improved them:
  • I can be impatient: when an important workflow comes up, I have to get on with it immediately.
  • Very detail-oriented: I put myself in the customer's shoes and want to provide the best possible service. I can spend time on details that are not important to me
  • I find it difficult to delegate: For a long time I thought that no one would have my thoroughness and could not help me with certain tasks.

With 25 years of experience and thanks to training in stress management and prioritisation of work time, I have learnt to adapt my organisation so that it is even more efficient. By listening, taking a step back and accepting, I now know how to delegate when necessary without wasting my time.

What I am
looking for

A job in tourism but not only !

My job search is based on 3 axes:

  • Staying in my field of competence in order to be fully operational. Thus, the functions of Travel Manager, Tourism Project Manager, Personal Assistant or Event Coordinator are positions in which I would be able to develop my managerial skills by making the most of my 25 years of expertise in the sphere of business travel and customer satisfaction.
  • To give a new impetus to my career by exploiting the knowledge I acquired during my "European Bachelor in Human Resources Management" training thanks to my learning and adaptation skills.
  • To explore new horizons that I like with jobs more focused on communication and/or commercial fields. My oral and written skills, my ability to manage delicate situations and to work under pressure as well as my ability to listen will be appreciated.

I am looking for a permanent job that would allow me to have perspectives, both in terms of my professional development and my evolution, over several years.

Challenges
faced

I'm not 20 anymore but I have experience !

When you have spent 25 years in the same company without having chosen to leave it, and you have worked all your life, it is really an unknown world that you discover. The world of job hunting. Unforgiving. One of the job search sites is aptly named: "Welcome to the Jungle"!

From the time I wrote my very first CV (for life) to today's "62578", from not getting any response to my interview requests to feedback that I have all the qualities but not the job, it took resilience.

Today, I am proud of how far I have come since being made redundant by COVID:

A successful one-year HR training course, which will, in any case, provide me with in-depth knowledge for management positions,
A resume that takes into account the feedback from all the Pôle Emploi trainings and workshops I attended, and now a website that I hope will make recruiters want to meet me.

I'm not 20 anymore, but I know that I can bring my expertise and knowledge in a multitude of fields for many years to come.

So I look forward to meeting the company where I can develop and grow for (at least) the next 15 years!

Laurence A, Corporate Travel Manager

"I had the pleasure of being Laurent's manager for 21 years. We have worked closely together on the organisation of events such as Innothera seminars, the Ballets de Monte Carlo groups and the Monte Carlo Television Festival as well as managing sensitive and high risk clients. Laurent has an excellent analysis, recommends and implements appropriate solutions. His organisational skills contribute to the improvement and optimisation of tasks as well as the efficient and simultaneous management of complex files. Laurent's interpersonal skills are highly valued by both clients and colleagues. His skills and reliability make him a major asset in a team."

Karine G, Corporate Travel Manager

"Entrusting an assignment to Laurent Rossi is to be assured of total involvement, of reaching your objectives within the deadlines and of a result beyond expectations because Laurent is brilliant, organised, rigorous, meticulous, autonomous and daring. He has many assets to succeed in various fields: adaptability, reliability, strength of proposal, listening, punctuality, proactivity, quick-wittedness, teamwork, writing and speaking skills. To succeed, you have to trust him because he is never better than when he is independent. I have enjoyed working with him for over twenty years. I have always appreciated his productivity and also his creativity."

My salary

As for the important question of my salary expectations, although I will study all proposals with the greatest interest, I honestly believe that the value of my skills and experience should be within a starting range (refined according to the requirements of the missions requested) of between 38 and 41K€ (excluding any social benefits).
